There are many reasons why granite is among the most popular choices for countertops. Granite is durable and resistant to scratching, chipping, and staining and because of its durability it is also heat resistant. The natural appeal of the granite, with its textured, gently-hued beauty, is unsurpassed by most any other material.

Granite countertops do need to be properly sealed. If your granite countertop is installed by Quality Granite we will seal the tops upon installation and recommend that they are resealed once a year. Ask our sales staff about the sealing process and products we recommend. Properly sealed and maintained granite will remain beautiful for years and add value to your home.

Quartz countertops are a manufactured stone that is becoming immensely popular in kitchen and bath design. There are many benefits to choosing quartz as a countertop material. Because it is a manufactured stone there is control over the design during production and because pigment can be added, it is available in a much wider range of colors for you to consider. The way manufactured stone is produced gives it the appearance of natural stone such as granite or marble. Most of the beautiful white marble looking countertops you see being installed today look like marble but are in fact quartz.

The most beneficial quality of quartz is that it is non-porous and does not have to be sealed. This means you can have those beautiful white countertops without worrying about staining and maintenance. However, quartz is not as heat resistant and you should never expose it to extreme temperatures. The resin used in manufacturing quartz countertops is a plastic, so it is prone to melting in heat above 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Ask our sales staff about quartz and its benefits to see if it is suitable for your project.

Yes, hard marbles are technically marbles, but they behave like a quartzite. They are a combination of different stone materials such as quartzite and calcite and are some of the most popular natural stones available today. Our hard marbles are a reliable countertop choice. These stones are resilient to etching and staining and offer the lighter tones that many customers are looking for.

These stones are not as hardy or maintenance free as some other stones available. We recommend sealing these stones one to three times a year. Ask our sales staff about care and maintenance on these combination type stones.

Quartzite is a beautiful option for countertops. This natural stone is formed in the hottest levels of the earth which makes it extremely durable, heat resistant, and shiny. This stone is resistant to scratching and etching and is available in light and dark colors depending on where it is formed. Many of the quartzites you will find on the market today are considered exotic and high end.

Quartzite is stronger than granite and heat and scratch resistant but still needs to be sealed. We recommend sealing your quartzite at least once a year. Ask our sales staff for more information on these stones and their properties.
